The Mi3 Look, Feel & Design


When opening the Xiaomi Mi3 the first thing that’s going to impress you is the box’s packaging

It really stands out from a construction, feel, and design standpoint especially in comparison to other phones made in China. It has premium, expensive feel and is seamlessly made and designed to look like a high-end, premium quality phone. The glass front integrates seamlessly with the aluminum body, and the triple coat of thermal graphite over the phone exterior gives the phone a beautiful look and feel. It really is a gorgeous phone that looks great and that feels wonderful to hold. It is incredibly light and easy to grip. The Xiaomi Mi3 weight with the battery is 144 grams, it is 7.96 mm X 73.95 mm X 144.2 mm.

The screen comes with Gorilla Glass protection which is not clearly mentioned anywhere. You can even scratch the screen using a sharp blade and what you will see is not a scratch, you can actually wipe it off using a soft cloth or tissue paper due to the incredible Gorilla Glass protection. You don’t even need to buy your own screen protector for this phone. It is an incredibly scratch-resistant screen, which automatically protects your phone from scratches and wear and tear. When you turn on the phone you get the welcome screen before the language option. Of course the English language is supported. The home screen color looks very good and is very smooth and responsive.

The Mi3 Hardware

The Xiaomi Mi3 is the fastest Mi phone ever made. It is only 8.1mm thick, and only 145 grams. Its fram is made of aluminum-magnesium alloy and is painted with 3 layers of thermal graphite. It has powerful inner hardware including a Snapdragon 8724AB 2.3 GHz processor, 2GB LPDDR3 RAM, Adreno 330 450MHz GPU, and eMMC 4.5 flash memory. This allows for fast and powerful application usage and gaming on your phone, due to the use of the Mi’s most powerful processor, the Qualcomm 8274AB.

Its screen has an incredibly gorgeous 5 inch IPS display that shows full HD images at a 16:9 ratio. This allows you to see incredible detail in 1808 pixel HD videos and stunning detail while playing 3D games. The screen even comes with glare-resistant coating to make reading anything easy no matter where you are.

This phone comes with 500 hours of standby time, 50 hours of music playing time, 25 hours of talking time and 21 hours of 3G data use. It also has dual band Wifi 2.4Ghz/5Ghz which allows for the fastest available internet access. It also comes with NFC, which stands for near field communication. The Mi cloud is available on the Mi3 phone which means you can access all of your contacts, photographs, notes and everything that exists on your phone anywhere you can access the internet. This also means no worries about lost data, contacts or photographs if your phone is ever damaged or lost.

It has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8274 AB quad-core processor which is clocked a t2.30 gigahertz. It also has a 2gb RAM screen that measures five inches, IPS Retina Display with full HD resolution.

This phone comes with a non-removable battery with a 3050 mAh capacity, 16 GB internal storage, dual LED flash, GPS with Glonass, NFC, and dual mics for noise cancellation. Xiaomi MI3 also comes with a lot of sensors.

The Mi3 camera

The camera is one of its best features and comes with many unique capabilities.

The 13 megapixel camera comes with dual-LED flash. The dual LED flash gives the ideal lighting to make all subjects look great. The next best thing to hiring a professional photographer, but it comes with you everywhere and is also in your pocket.

It has a large Exmor senseor with a f/2.2 aperture which allows for beautiful photos to be taken even in low light conditions. The rear camera is 30 megapixels, and the front is 2 megapixels. The Mi3 takes beautiful photos in all lighting conditions and uses the best in camera-photography technology to capture your subjects in their best light and photographs that turn out stunningly.

The Mi3 phone supports ten-point multi-HD panorama, filters, skin tones. The camera app comes with a built in time watermark and a built in QR scanner.

You can set the camera quality to high, the front camera supports face detection and recognition. In video mode you have the image stabilizer option. You can also change the focus more to see if that’s continuous autofocus. The rear camera can shoot videos in full HD resolution you also have the fast motion option for video. The Mi3 screen has 1,920X1,080 pixels and can shoot and display full HD videos.

The asphalt eight the game but the point is set to the highest visual quality. The hardware in most games should work without any issues.

The phone itself is slim and has a premium, classic look. It comes with a cable and travel charger that are of good quality. You also get this SIM tray ejector pin, the Mi3 quick start guide, and the warranty statement.

The Xiaomi Mi3 has a silver metallic finish that is made with an aluminum-magnesium alloy frame. It’s finish is matte and the handset is comfortable to hold. The design is pretty slim and the front, back, top and bottom are all flat. The sides are curved and there are no sharp edges.

The Mi3 Interface, Apps, & Ease of Use

In regards to the ease of use, interface and buttons on the Mi3 phone, everything is thoughtfully designed, and I will go into more detail below:

It has touch sensitive buttons and the front camera that has 10 megapixel autofocus with dual LED flash. The Mic SIM tray and audio jack are placed on the top. The rubber buttons and power button are on the right side. On the bottom side you’ll find a clear USB port and the speaker with nothing on the left side. The build quality and the finishing are gorgeous and awesome. The look and build quality are both unbelievable for this price tag. The defined screen also comes with a protective film you need to remove this before you start using the handset.

The in navigation buttons do light up, the interface is pretty interesting and the apps have nicely icon orders, for example you can get all the related application club under each other. The screen is five inches and viewing angles are very good you can clearly see everything from almost all angles. One of the best features is you can change the colors.

The Xiaomi Mi3 has Wifi, direct by Wifi display, NFC, and Android Beam. Wifi Hot spot use and Bluetooth tethering is also supported. Display color temperature and saturation you can choose from the options. WAM standard cone and sound settings you will also find in the options for optimized audio quality.

In settings you will also find it do not disturb option, you can get access to my cloud but before that you will need to register. Xiaomi Mi3 is highly customizable you can actually change the way the navigation buttons work. In the tools option there are a lot of tools including FM radio check out, you can also customize the interface it and edit the homescreen. The phone dialer supports a lot of and some of the themes will completely change the way it looks and works including the lockscreen.

For example, long press the home button and you’ll get the ok Google option, long press the menu button and you get a list of applications that are currently open, you can tap and drag them on the top to remove it, or you can also press the green button to close all the applications. You can change how these buttons work with different themes. Your XIAOMI MI3 can have 16 GB internal storage you get around 11 GB when you are using the file Explorer you can see the SD card which is the internal card and available free space is around 11 GB.

The handset is completely sealed there is no micro SD card slot. Of the two GB RAM you get 1 gigabyte free. In battery settings you can choose the indicators style, there are three different options available. The backside is with the matte finish and is a little slippery, you need to be extra careful with this or get a case that has more grip.

Some of the apps come preloaded such as the security app. The data usage comes with a cool option; it keeps track of the data that you have used. You can easily access this to check your usage as well as visit the data usage app where you can use the restrict option which allows you to enable or disable data usage for any particular application.

For example if your favorite app is using data and you want to continue giving it data usage access, you can choose to do so, whereas an application that you don’t want to be using, you can restrict its data usage to save data. You can choose to enable and/or disable 3G and WiFi usage for any particular application on your phone, which is pretty cool and useful.

You can use this options to reduce unwanted data usage. The Xiaomi Mi3 has a quad-core processor clocked at 2.30 gigahertz and is running Kitkat 4.4.2. It also has a screen resolution is 1080 X1920 pixels.

It even has a barometer, temperature measurement, light options, and more.
The barometer application measures the atmospheric pressure, and it does work quite well.

The Xiaomi Mi3 has a Snapdragon quad-core processor that is usually found on high-end phones, however this phone has it with a much lower price tag. The look and feel and quality of the Mi3 are all incredibly high end while the price is incredibly reasonable. It does not support external SIM cards, however you get unlimited storage space up 16 GB. The Mi3 comes loaded with almost everything that you would find on a premium phone. It supports NFC and also comes with a built-in backing up 3050 image capacity. Definitely a very good buy.
